HCP presents its first musical, and this hysterically funny Sondheim classic is a perfect choice for the Players, filled as it is with unforgettable characters and light-hearted, satirical and melodious songs that must be sung and acted!

Set in ancient Rome, a respectable young man falls in love with a beautiful young virgin, who lives in the house of ill-repute next door.  The slave Psuedolus (the role originally played by Zero Mostel) is promised his freedom if he can acquire the virgin for his lovesick master.  Thus ensues the riotous romp promised by the opening number, “Comedy Tonight” : "old situations, new complications; this time it all turns out all right.  Tragedy tomorrow.  Comedy tonight!
